Edmodo
what is it?
Edmodo is a social media website where teachers, students and parents can connect. Some school have Moodle sites, which are very similar to Edmodo; however, Edmodo is user friendly and if you change to a school where they don't have Moodle, you will still have your Edmodo site.
How to use this site
Signing up:
Go to the link: http://www.edmodo.com/ and click on "I'm a Teacher". All you need is a username, which I put as my email so it's easier to remember.
Signing up your students is easy too. Have your students go to the same link and click "I'm a Student". When students are signing in it will ask them for a group code you will find this on the right hand corner of your class page and it's called Group code. Students will need this code to log into your site. It the code is not working, and your students cannot log in, reset the code and this should fix the problem. Note: I asked my students to make their username and password the same as how they log onto the computers at school so students are less likely to forget.
Getting your class page started:
Go to the left hand side of your page and hit "create" (see the picture to the side). Then a box will pop up and you enter in the title of the class, the grade and the subject. Done! You will see your classes that you have created will be listed on the left hand side of your home page. Each class that you make will have a different group code and students need that code to access that class.
